God Our Bunker
Sunday Jul 14, 2024
Sunday Jul 14, 2024
Nations and wealthy individuals invest a significant amount of money in building bunkers. Bunkers provide safety during times of war and offer peace of mind until the situation stabilizes. Several times, the Psalmist David metaphorically describes God as a fortress or a bunker. Often, we are tempted to seek protection in our mountains (things we trust), but this can expose us to danger from the wicked. Psalm 11 urges us to make God our bunker, as He can fight battles we cannot.

God still speaks and gives each person tasks. Our perceptions greatly affect how we act on His assignments. Sometimes we may only partially complete the job, or we may hide from Him thinking He no longer sees us. For His word to be fulfilled, He may allow a storm that not only affects us, but also those around us who are with us in hiding. Instead of putting innocent people at risk, it's better to complete the assignment first and then deal with any difficult situations that may arise.

The world has established standards for everything to ensure that a product performs as advertised or expected. This holds true for Christians today. Jesus expects them to maintain Christian standards that have unfortunately been compromised by those who seek fame, food, or simply do not understand the costs involved. Regrettably, this causes other people to stumble. Today's sermon will shed light on the practicality of being the Salt of the World.

Psalm 10 | When the rich and powerful mistreat the poor and powerless
Sunday Jun 16, 2024
Sunday Jun 16, 2024
It often happens that the rich do not care about God. This extends to a point where they oppress the powerless who are poor. Without the power to challenge the rich and powerful, when they feel mistreated, many question God’s providence. On the other hand, the rich think they can go unnoticed by God in their evil practices. This Psalm sensitizes both the rich and poor that God sees it all and all actions will be accounted for. Therefore, let the poor keep their faith in God as He sees and will deal with any form of mistreatment.

Sunday Jun 09, 2024
Sunday Jun 09, 2024
The death of John the Baptist illustrates that the Christian journey is not easy, but rather requires trust in God and a focus on eternal glory. However, the desire to be accepted by society has led many Christians to compromise their beliefs. True Christians who hold fast to the word of God may face persecution, even to the point of death. God, despite having the power to stop such persecution, allows it to happen to His followers not out of hatred for humanity, but because He is God and has eternal destiny for each individual.

Friday Jun 07, 2024
As human beings, we often have the misconception that if we live righteously, everything we ask from God will be answered immediately. While God is quick to answer prayers and we do receive what we ask for, sometimes the timing of the answer may be years. This delay may lead us to remove the request from our prayer list, but it doesn't mean that God won't answer it eventually. He surely will. During the waiting period, it's important to focus on bringing glory to God and continue serving Him. The lives of Zechariah and Elizabeth illustrate this situation. Let's learn from their steadfastness in their faith and trust in God.

False Glory We Give To God
Sunday May 26, 2024
Sunday May 26, 2024
God deserves all the glory, but the glory that pleases Him is the glory that is due to Him. He is not pleased by our evil acts that bring success, and then we testify of His goodness as if He did what we testify about. What we do outside His statutes should remain outside, but what He has done, let us give Him the glory that is due. Pursuing evil acts for good gain may work for a while, but what will it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul? God sees all the evil acts and will judge us accordingly.

Wednesday May 22, 2024
Wednesday May 22, 2024
One concerning issue today is the increasing number of churches and preachers. Despite efforts by some world leaders to stop the preaching of the gospel, they have not succeeded. What we need to realize is that what is happening is what God said would happen. As human beings today, we are here to fulfil His grand plan, which includes spreading the Word. If anyone rejects the call, God can bring someone from afar to do the task, because what He has planned must come to pass. Let us respond positively to His call and continue to do His work.
